Preparation for Applying to Screenwriting Programs

Course Overview

The course takes the form of individual tuition aimed at candidates for the „Screenwriting“ and „Film Dramaturgy“ programmes at NATFA, NBU, SWU and „Lyuben Groys“, and adheres to the requirements of the respective institution. The programme focuses on developing dramaturgical thinking and the creation of original texts.

We focus primarily on:

  • basic theoretical training;
  • analysis of the required films from the exam lists;
  • writing texts and creative exercises;
  • developing an idea for a short film;
  • working on writing the screenplay;
  • review and preparation for the exam itself.

Format: Online

Duration:

Preparation begins a few months before the entrance exams and ends just before they take place. The course starts on 15 October with sessions once a week, and the intensity increases as the exams approach.

Price depending on the booking period:

  • October 15 – December 31: 750 €
  • January 1 – March 14: 650 €
  • March 15 – April 15: 550 €
No new candidates will be accepted after April 15.

Preparation for Film Directing Admissions

Course Overview

The course runs as individualized preparation tailored for applicants to the “Film and Television Directing” program at NATFA, NBU, SWU, and “Lyuben Groys,” and follows the requirements of the respective institution.

In its practical component, the course aims to create an original short film that will serve as the basis for the upcoming exam.

We focus primarily on:

  • basic theoretical training;
  • analysis of the required films from the exam lists;
  • developing a concept for an original short film;
  • working on writing the screenplay;
  • preparation for the production of the short film—developing a director’s vision, working with actors, casting, collaborating with a cinematographer, etc.;
  • producing and organizing the filming process;
  • review and preparation for the exam itself.

Price depending on the booking period:

  • October 15 – December 31: 950 €
  • January 1 – March 5: 900 €
  • March 5 – April 5: 850 €

No new applicants will be accepted after April 5.

Note! Production of the film is not included in the course fee. Production costs are calculated separately based on the specific budget.
