Preparatory course for prospective students in playwriting – NATFA
We focus primarily on:
- basic theoretical training;
- analysis of the films on the examination list;
- writing texts and creative exercises;
- development of an idea for a short film script;
- work on writing a screenplay;
- editing and rewriting the script
- preparation for the interview with the examination board.

once a week / 2 astronomical hours
Duration:
from the date of commencement until 27 June 2027.

Preparatory course for prospective students in film directing – NATFA
The preparation is tailored to individual needs and is aimed at candidates applying for the „Film and Television Directing“ course at NATFA.
The main aim of the course is to develop directorial and visual thinking and to create original material for the university application portfolio.
As part of the practical component of the course, candidates produce their own short film, which can be included in their creative portfolio.
We focus primarily on:
- basic theoretical training;
- analysis of the films on the examination list;
- the development of creative and visual thinking;
- developing a concept for an original short film;
- working on writing the screenplay;
- developing a director’s vision;
- working with actors and casting;
- preparation and organisation of the filming process;
- preparation for the interview with the examination board.
Format:
online, one-to-one
Timetable:
until the end of March – 1 session per week / 2 astronomical hours;
From April to 27 June – 1 session per week / 3 astronomical hours.

from the date of commencement until 27 June 2027.

*After 7 February, enrolment is only possible if the applicant already has a developed short film project.
Note! The filming and production costs for the short film are not included in the course fee.
PREPARATORY COURSE FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS IN FILM DIRECTING – SWU
The preparation is tailored to the individual and is designed to meet the candidate’s specific objective:
A practical entrance exam or participation in the online competition.
1. Preparation for the practical entrance examination
The course is designed to prepare students for the practical entrance examination for the „Film and Television Directing“ degree programme.
We focus primarily on:
- history and theory of cinema;
- creative and visual thinking;
- analysis of films and film scenes;
- analysis and interpretation of literary material;
- work on a set topic;
- preparation for the interview with the examination board.

online, one-to-one

8 sessions / 16 astronomical hours

2. Preparation for the online competition – original project
This form is intended for candidates who wish to create their own original work to enter the South-West University online competition.
We focus primarily on:
- basic theoretical training;
- the development of creative and visual thinking;
- the basics of screenwriting;
- development of an original idea;
- developing and writing a script;
- developing a directorial vision.
Once the script has been written, the candidate decides for themselves whether to proceed with filming it. This process is not included in the course programme, but the candidate can count on support and valuable guidance during the pre-production stage.
